Construction works on the Maritime Culture Centre (OKM) have been going on for 18 months. At present the building undergoes finishing works. Stone and wooden floors are laid. In technical facilities technological floors are placed (made of epoxy resin).

The Maritime Culture Centre (OKM), now under construction between the Crane and the Hanza Hotel, keeps growing every day. Construction works are being carried out on the sixth storey. Floor has been shored up over the fourth storey, and some of the boarding has been raised for the other outer walls.

Day by day, the Maritime Culture Centre built between the Żuraw and the Hanza Hotel is surfacing. Despite the holiday season, intensive pedestrian traffic in and around the streets of Długie Pobrzeże and Szeroka, and the three-week-long St Dominic's Fair, the construction work on the Centre has been making quick progress.

Welcome to the on-line exhibition 'Following the Traces of Mediaeval Shipwrecks', illustrating maritime archaeology in Norway and Poland. The exhibition is addressed mainly to young visitors, who can learn something more about our cultural heritage lying beneath the waves of the Baltic and the North Sea.

The scenery of the old port on the Motława River is rapidly changing. The Colonial Warehouse buildings cannot be seen any more. Soon, Poleko Sp. z o.o. company will complete the demolition of the former boiler house, later adapted to museum purposes.

Soon construction work will begin on a modern museum facility – the Maritime Culture Centre. It will be the next branch of the Polish Maritime Museum. The new building will be built where at present the Colonial Warehouse is located, next to the Crane.

The Colonial Warehouse has now been closed to visitors. It used to be one of the premises of the Polish Maritime Museum, located by the already renovated Crane. Soon the demolition work will begin on the former heating plant which in the 1970s was adapted for the museum.
